hello loves! if you recall, i was entertaining the idea of hosting a little contest for Avatar the Last Airbender/Korra fans who live in the U.K. i have decided that enough fans have showed interest, so i will definitely bring a few pieces of ATLA merchandise with me on my U.K. invasion…

i have also decided to host the event primarily on twitter. following and gathering hashtags is easier on twitter, and i need things to be easy while i am traveling. i will definitely add updates here on tumblr when i can take more than a few minutes away from U.K. shenanigans :)

if you would like to participate in this little contest, you will need a twitter account. Tweet your favorite places in the U.K. for just about anything (tea, daydreaming, food, sightseeing, etc) and include the hashtag #appa_in_the_uk . be as descriptive as you can within your 140 character limit. please do not add links to places or things you enjoy, just describe them. again, i dont want to encourage spam accounts looking for twitter events to exploit.

twitter is very particular about contests, so please do not create other accounts, or use the hashtag to spam unrelated content etc.

i am traveling throughout the U.K., so i will not be able to meet up with anyone (thank you for the kind requests). most of my time will be spent in scotland’s highlands. when i return to edinburgh around the 1st/2nd of april, i will gather tweets that have hashtags (and are obviously not spam), and place the names in a randomizing program. first 3 names chosen will win a prize.

1st place prize: plush appa

2nd place prize: set of dark horse comic’s The Promise volumes 1,2 and 3

3rd place prize: SDCC poster of aang and air bisons

there is no cost to any of the winners. i enjoy making people smile. unfortunately, i can only ship items to U.K. residents. i hope fans understand. also, you will need to allow my account to message you on twitter. this is how i will be contacting the three winners. if you do not respond in a reasonable amount of time, i will need to go to the next person sorted during the randomizing. you can also decline (you may already have one of the items), and i will happily give another fan the opportunity. this will not add your name back into the list though. once i generate the list of winners, i am not mixing names up again. sorry

remember, just one tweet is all you need to show me you’re interested. you may tweet more if you would like, but it will not add to your chances of winning. so far a handful of people are interested, so the odds are looking good for those following this contest.

what should you tweet? tweet about what you love about the UK (anywhere in the UK). you can do this anyway you want (as long as you do not sound like a twitter bot or horse-ebooks :P). you can write a haiku if you want to mix it up a little. these are suggestions, not requirements. the content of your tweets will not make your chances better, winners are chosen randomly. but for fun, and for a chance to share experiences with other fans, i suggested sharing something about your homeland :)
